As part of anti-bullying week we visited Haslingden Primary School to teach workshops and to talk to the children about anti-bullying. Liam’s nephew and niece, Tyler and Anoushka attend the school.

I was bullied at school so I found it very rewarded in making efforts to prevent it happening to others. We talked to around 300 students in assembly and performed for them.
We then taught 2 brilliant groups of year 6 students for 45 minutes each. It was a great day and we really enjoyed it. Well done to all the students.

Remember, always show respect to people, be confident and don’t be afraid of being different.

We were at Meadowhall Shopping Centre Sheffield with Diversity on Friday 6th of November where they performed and switched the Christmas lights on. It was great to see them and congratulate them on winning Britain’s got Talent as we hadn’t seen them since the show.

All the students had an halloween party in their classes at Liam’s Martial Arts school in Sheffield, Excel Martial Arts. It was a wicked night with all the students in fancy dress. We played loads of fun games and had a fancy dress competition. Well done to Ellian, Thomas and Kurtis for getting 1st prize.

Hi guys!

We’ve just returned from Minehead where we performed at their Butlins resort. We did 2 nights at the resort and had a blast! The crowds were great which we always appreciate as this gets our adrenaline going making our performance even better! Some people even took time out to make Strike banners, and purchased our signed posters after the show, we love meeting our fans so thank you to all of you!!

We are back at Minehead next week along with a show at Skegness so will hope to see you there.

We were unsure what to expect as this was the first time we have performed at a rugby club.

This made us a litle nervous especially knowing it was going to be shown on Sky Sports!  We arrived at the event and were welcomed by the staff, who took us for food first then were taken to the youth club located in the ground where we did a 20 minute workshop with the kids.  Then came the time to perform on the pitch which went really well thanks to the crowd who were AWESOME!!!! We are looking forward to more events like this in future

We are performing at Hull Kingston Rovers v Wigan Warriors tomorrow at Craven Park and it’s going to be on sky sports 1. Kick off is 5.30 and we are doing pre match and half time – see you there!!

The event was to celebrate all the students passing their grading at Liam’s martial school, EXCEL MARTIAL ARTS. It was a packed evening with around 300 people and 100 students graduating.

Maximum Style dance school kicked the night off and there were also some brilliant performances from the Excel students and the strike class. We even had some students perform the famous strike shirt rip during their routines. Joel, a 5 year old student ran out to rip his shirt during Strike’s routine. It was awesome! Well done to all the students for great effort and determination. All that hard work payed off!

We arrived in Glasgow the day before the show because we had an early start in the morning. The day of the show we woke up bright and early, the first thing we thought about was BREAKFAST!!

We arrived at the shopping centre about 11am, we were really looking forward to the show because the last time we did a show in a Glasgow shopping centre the crowd was amazing. We were performing alongside Bad Lashes from The X Factor and Signature from Britain’s Got Talent. We went on first to kick start the show with a bang. We want to thank everyone that looked after us at the shopping centre, we had a great time.

We are over half way through our Strike Butlins Tour and we are having a great time. The 3 different venues that we perform at our great and they each have a different feel to them. We think that all the cast that are in the V For Variety show that we perform in are great. But the best thing about the Butlins shows is the crowd, the crowd is Awesome, and we get chance to meet them all after the show. We are nearing the end of the tour but we have had a great time.

This was an awesome event and it was close to home as well. This event was the first time we performed our brand new routine on stage and it went really well. We did 2 performances in total and the crown seemed to love them, see picture of Strike at Gay Pride Doncaster here. We also got our face painted for our routine half red and half black!! We would like to thank everyone that looked after us at the event, we had a great day.

We had a great time teaching at the Peterborough Martial Arts Academy ( evolution Tae Kwon Do ). All the students put 110% in all the way throught. We taught 1 seminar lasting about 2 and a half hours, covering all aspects of performance martial arts. It’s a great school with great instructors, we are looking forward to visiting them again.

We had a great week of Strike Schools Workshops last week at Wickersley High School in Rotherham (sports presentation evening), Harehills Primary School in Leeds and Werneth School in Manchester. Thanks to everyone who took part and made them so memorable. Don’t forget to come and say hi on Facebook, Bebo or MySpace.

We arrived at Werneth School in Manchester at 7.30am ready to get started, and began the day by doing a demonstration for a small assembly in the drama studio. We then taught 2 seminars for some of the kids that do Performing Arts & Drama at the school. Each seminar lasted 1 1/2 hours, all the kids were awesome and got really engaged in what we were teaching them. After the seminars we met some of the other students that were in the school.

The teachers tried everything too and impressed us with their routine. Well done to them. We would like to say a big thankyou to all the teachers at the school, hopefull we will visit the school again.

The festival was on a beautiful sunny day with loads of things to do and entertainment for the approximately 20,000.

We performed 3 routines on the main stage with a great crowd screaming for us. After we took time to enjoy the festival and took part in the army 1 minute press up challenge. We both broke the record for the weekend of 95 full press ups in 1 minute.

We also got chance to catch up with our mates signature who also performed on the festival. We sold merchandise to loads of fans. Many thanks to all the organisers for looking after us so well and being so friendly.

The event was held in Leicester Square although many other things were going on around the city centre with around 40,000 people. It was the hardest stage to perform on so far as it was the smallest, however we still managed to put a great show judging by the crowds reaction.

Strike are excited to announce Strike Performance School Workshops are now available to book and touring schools nationalwide in the UK.

Strike Performance is not like any other martial arts. It combines martial arts, dance and gymnastics all choreographed to music to form a fun-based martial arts program that develops confidence and focus in a unique way.

Liam and Danny are not only instructors but also role models for students. They believe that teaching life skills is just as important as martial arts. The life skills they promote include, respect, perseverance, modesty, courtesy, self-control and discipline etc. They are also very anti-bullying and include this in their seminars.

When Strike visit schools they bring energy, enthusiasm and entertainment and create a buzz for the school with media attention. The program encourages children to stay fit and healthy, offering not only excitement within the school but a huge confidence boost for children they work with, each one leaving with a stronger “I CAN” attitude.

Strike will be happy to perform a routine before or after the workshops. There is also potential for students to perform with Strike in assembly or on organised school shows.

Strike can work 1 class for 30 min right up to a series of classes or courses spread throughout the year. Strike offer a unique selection of courses for the schools and sports centres around the country including:

After school clubs
Assembly Talks

Strike are also currently working with the NHS to get kids fitter and raise their aspirations.

Act Against Bullying has received support from the dynamic Martial Arts duo Strike

Charity founder Louise Burfitt-Dons met Liam and Danny to discuss anti-bullying initiatives at Chakalaka’s in Chiswick. These include them featuring in a series of filmed clips to be broadcast on the charity’s website and on You Tube.

Louise said: ‘It is great to have Liam and Danny on board. Young people really respect their act. They are currently touring schools and they are the perfect ambassadors for AAB. We hope they can help inspire youngsters away from the bullying culture which pervades our society at the moment.’

The Strike Butlins Tour has started and we have already performed at all 3 venues in 4 days.

We sold our Official Strike Merchandise at Skegness, which went really well with most of the kids getting official Strike Posters and  Strike T Shirts. The venues have been packed out, creating a great atmosphere for us to put on a wicked show. We even got chance to chill out in the sun for a couple of hours on Friday at Bognor before performing at night on centre stage. We are looking forward to the rest of the Butlins tour so if you can come and check out our new routine on one of our Tour Dates.

Strike join The Blue Peter Team to demonstrate some of the techniques you’ll see in the Harpers Strike Program.

‘Harpers Strike’ courses launched in January 2009 in nine locations across the country, more locations are being added all the time so register your interest and we’ll contact you as soon as they become available near you.

Courses run for three different age groups: 5-7’s, 8-11’s and 12-16’s. Harpers Strike are currently running in the following locations:

• Blackwater Leisure Centre
• Harpenden Leisure Centre
• Okehampton Leisure Centre
• Parklands Leisure Centre
• Peterlee Leisure Centre
• Riverside Swimming Centre Norwich

This event was for nucleur power company Urenco.The event was a James Bond theme and we were performing as if we were looking to find James Bond and kill him.

There was Jaws, odd job and odd job look alikes. We both really enjoyed the night and hope to work with them again.
