This weekend we were invited down to London to run GMTV’s Beach Body Bootcamp. They have been doing the bootcamp over several weeks and have had different activities and skills to learn each week. We were looking forward to teaching them some Strke performance martial arts. We were very impressed with how they all did and everyone put in 100% effort. We would like to wish them look with their upcoming tasks in the remaining weeks of the bootcamp.
Last weekend we were invited down to cornwall to the Bryne Black Belt acadamy Graduation. At the graduation we graded the students, ran workshops and did some performances. It was probably the biggest martial arts school we have been to with over 250 students grading. Although the drive was long and we covered over 1000 mile over the weekend it was well worth and we both had a brilliant weekend! We really enjoyed working with the students there. They were all enthusiastic and really up for the challange of learning Strike performance martial arts. We would like to thank all the students that took part and Ed Bryne and all his team for inviting us down to such a good event and making us feel so welcome.
This was the first time we had been to Cadbury world and we had no idea what to expect. When we arrived the first the thing we noticed was the smell of chocolate! Our plan was to perform on a stage outside but unforchanatly due to bad weather we had to change our plans and perform inside in a smaller area. However this worked out better for us as the smaller area meant the performance and teaching was more intamate so everyone could get involved. We did a performance, got kids to take part in some workshops and also got chance to speak to the parents. We both really enjoyed the day and Cadbury were so happy with what we did that they booked us for more shows!….Check out our tour dates to see when we will next …..
These last couple of years we have been working closely with NHS Hull
helping promote health and well being in schools and people across Hull. Most recently we have been visiting the David Lister School and working with a group of kids that are either under achieving at school or having problems in there life. We try to keep the sessions as fun a possible but disciplined at the same time, at first some of the kids didn’t want to join in but after 5 minutes there were all on there feet having a great time and doing really well. We have booked in for more sessions at the school and are very much looking forward to them.
It was a bit weird going to perform at Pontins as we had already done 2 seasons of performing at butlins, i guess it felt a bit like we was
working with the enemy ha ha. The 2 weekends we performed at was national fitness weekends with fitness instructors from all over Britain. Our routines went down very well with the crowd as they appreciate the hard work and determination it takes to do the performances we do. After our routine we got some people out of the crowd to try some Strike martial arts, it was a great atmosphere as we had 2 teams trying to out perform each other. We had a great time and would like to thank all the staff there for looking after us so well and we would love to perform there again in the future.
When we first got the call asking if we would perform at Disneyland
Paris, we jumped at the chance. We have been over to Disneyland Florida to perform and run workshops before but never Disneyland Paris. Although it was a few degrees colder in Paris it was amazing. Our job there was to perform and run workshops at a martial arts world tournament. The tournament was very busy and had people competing from all over the world. We got a great response from all the competitors in the workshops, our performance went well and we even got chance to go on a few rides!
This event was a first for us, where different acts with
different talents showcase there performance to a room full of club owners and holiday resort owners. The event was held over 3 days. On
the day we were performing we soon realised we were the only non singing act! This worked in our favour because it meant we really stood out. The only issue we came across was the size of the stage….it was tiny!!!! We kicked each other a few times and one of us even lost a shoe Fortunately for us nobody noticed and the performance went down really well!
You can see us appearing at The Mall Shopping Centre in Barnsley from 6.00pm. Come along if you’re in the area!
As part of anti-bullying week we visited Haslingden Primary School to teach workshops and to talk to the children about anti-bullying. Liam’s nephew and niece, Tyler and Anoushka attend the school.
I was bullied at school so I found it very rewarded in making efforts to prevent it happening to others. We talked to around 300 students in assembly and performed for them.
We then taught 2 brilliant groups of year 6 students for 45 minutes each. It was a great day and we really enjoyed it. Well done to all the students.
Remember, always show respect to people, be confident and don’t be afraid of being different.
They will develop skills which will help them enter society with a more confident and enthusiastic outlook.
They will become better students at school, better listeners at home and more ambitious towards the future.
The Mini Strike program will also prepare your child for martial arts classes.
The skills they are taught are composed of physical and mental benefits. The classes are fun, motivating and educational.

All the students had an halloween party in their classes at Liam’s Martial Arts school in Sheffield, Excel Martial Arts. It was a wicked night with all the students in fancy dress. We played loads of fun games and had a fancy dress competition. Well done to Ellian, Thomas and Kurtis for getting 1st prize.
Keep training hard guys!
We’ve just returned from Minehead where we performed at their Butlins resort. We did 2 nights at the resort and had a blast! The crowds were great which we always appreciate as this gets our adrenaline going making our performance even better! Some people even took time out to make Strike banners, and purchased our signed posters after the show, we love meeting our fans so thank you to all of you!!
We are back at Minehead next week along with a show at Skegness so will hope to see you there.
Love Strike xx
We were unsure what to expect as this was the first time we have performed at a rugby club.
This made us a litle nervous especially knowing it was going to be shown on Sky Sports! We arrived at the event and were welcomed by the staff, who took us for food first then were taken to the youth club located in the ground where we did a 20 minute workshop with the kids. Then came the time to perform on the pitch which went really well thanks to the crowd who were AWESOME!!!! We are looking forward to more events like this in future
We are performing at Hull Kingston Rovers v Wigan Warriors tomorrow at Craven Park and it’s going to be on sky sports 1. Kick off is 5.30 and we are doing pre match and half time – see you there!!
Maximum Style dance school kicked the night off and there were also some brilliant performances from the Excel students and the strike class. We even had some students perform the famous strike shirt rip during their routines. Joel, a 5 year old student ran out to rip his shirt during Strike’s routine. It was awesome! Well done to all the students for great effort and determination. All that hard work payed off!
Special thanks to Diane Richards, Sharnie Richards, and Liam Eccles for all their help. Also we are pleased to announce that we have a new instructor on board, Mr Dale Gordon.
We arrived in Glasgow the day before the show because we had an early start in the morning. The day of the show we woke up bright and early, the first thing we thought about was BREAKFAST!!
We arrived at the shopping centre about 11am, we were really looking forward to the show because the last time we did a show in a Glasgow shopping centre the crowd was amazing. We were performing alongside Bad Lashes from The X Factor and Signature from Britain’s Got Talent. We went on first to kick start the show with a bang. We want to thank everyone that looked after us at the shopping centre, we had a great time.
We are over half way through our Strike Butlins Tour and we are having a great time. The 3 different venues that we perform at our great and they each have a different feel to them. We think that all the cast that are in the V For Variety show that we perform in are great. But the best thing about the Butlins shows is the crowd, the crowd is Awesome, and we get chance to meet them all after the show. We are nearing the end of the tour but we have had a great time.
If you’ve been to see us at Butlins head over to our Strike Facebook page and say hi…
Danny and Liam are proud to support the NHS Change4Life program:
“These days, ‘modern life’ can mean that we’re a lot less active. With so many opportunities to watch TV or play computer games, and with so much convenience and fast food available, we don’t move about as much, or eat as well as we used to. Which means that 9 out of 10 kids today could grow up with dangerous amounts of fat in their bodies. This can cause life-threatening diseases like cancer, type 2 diabetes and heart disease – so it’s really important that we do something about it.”
Take the first step towards getting your kids eating well, moving more and living longer and visit www.nhs.uk/change4life/
Danny and Liam will be appearing live on GMTV this Friday 21st August to talk about their involvement with the NHS Change4Life program! Don’t forget to watch live then drop us a comment and let us know what you thought of the show!!
This was an awesome event and it was close to home as well. This event was the first time we performed our brand new routine on stage and it went really well. We did 2 performances in total and the crown seemed to love them, see picture of Strike at Gay Pride Doncaster here. We also got our face painted for our routine half red and half black!! We would like to thank everyone that looked after us at the event, we had a great day.
We had a great time teaching at the Peterborough Martial Arts Academy ( evolution Tae Kwon Do ). All the students put 110% in all the way throught. We taught 1 seminar lasting about 2 and a half hours, covering all aspects of performance martial arts. It’s a great school with great instructors, we are looking forward to visiting them again.
We had a great week of Strike Schools Workshops last week at Wickersley High School in Rotherham (sports presentation evening), Harehills Primary School in Leeds and Werneth School in Manchester. Thanks to everyone who took part and made them so memorable. Don’t forget to come and say hi on Facebook, Bebo or MySpace.
